When Fat Joe promises to keep his mouth shut, he’s not just referring to his hit single “I Won’t Tell.” He’s also talking about his business in the streets. Joe told MTV News he has gotten into fights with plenty of rappers of before, but he has never mentioned names, in accordance with his code. Joe also had no plans to go public about last week’s altercation with Papoose — until an e-mail blast was sent out detailing what he insists is a false version of events on 50 Cent’s ThisIs50.com. (50’s anti-Joe campaign continued Tuesday [March 11], when he released the G-Unit mixtape The Elephant in the Sand.)

“He’s a Pho-to-shop-aaaaaah,” Joe said Monday in New York, smiling and obviously mimicking 50’s song “Window Shopper.” Joe was referring to the doctored pictures of him beat up black-and-blue that surfaced on the Net. He blames 50 and company for the defamation.

“I don’t have nothing to gain from putting out stories that I beat up Papoose,” said Joe, who claimed victory in the squabble with the Brooklyn MC. “Papoose, this is an approach he chose. He felt he was taking a negative and turning it into a positive, but in the long run, time tells the truth. Time will tell.”

Joe said after the fight, he and Papoose made peace and actually hugged.

“As a man, I kept it moving,” he said. “That was it. It was squashed. Four hours later, I heard I got beat up. [There were] too many people there for him to get away with those lies. If we were in a little room alone, maybe he could pull off [the lie], I guess. I don’t think no one would believe a 60-pound guy could beat up Fat Joe.”

Joe’s recollection of the fight goes like this: He and Papoose were on a bill to perform at a North Carolina concert along with several other rappers. All the acts were staying at one hotel. A member of Joe’s entourage found out that Papoose was staying on the first floor. Joey Crack said he started acting like Javier Bardem looking for Josh Brolin in “No Country for Old Men.”

“I knocked on every door,” Joe said. ” ‘No Country for Old Men’! You better believe it.”

Finally, Joe found the room where Pap, Cassidy, Yo Gotti and Gucci Mane were chilling with their crews. He approached Pap and asked if they had a problem.

“I was hoping he would say he didn’t have a problem,” Joe said. Neither man would back down, and the altercation ensued.

Joe’s disdain for Pap came on the heels of 50 Cent’s takeover of New York radio station Power 105.1 several days ago. While on-air, 50 threw shots at Joe and his family. Papoose and Remy Ma were guests at the time, and Remy even took a few jabs.

“Unfortunately, I felt I had to make somebody pay,” Joe explained. “[Papoose] was up there laughing.

“It’s hard,” he added. “Sometimes you reach that boiling point. Sometimes they try to pull you back in. ‘Prove it to us again. Show us you’re a tough guy.’ “

Ironically, Joe said his latest big record, “I Won’t Tell,” was fueled by learning that 50 Cent and Remy Ma had made an alliance.

“They make me deliver hits,” he said. “They say success is the best revenge.’

“I Won’t Tell” features J. Holiday, though Joe admits that he originally had someone else in mind to sing the hook.

“This guy here, he’s very talented, he’s special,” Joe said of Holiday. “He’s real talented. The girls at my label were like, ‘You gotta work with him.’ ‘Cause originally I was gonna use R. Kelly. But J. did it, and he killed it.

“It was so much fun,” the Terror Squad Don added of the song’s clip. “It was like a real party. You know how you do a video, and it’s work, and people are trying to make it look like a party? Nah, this was a real party. Miami, everybody is there. … They almost threw Junior Reid out 10 times. He was like, ‘Because I’m Jamaican, they think it’s me [smoking].’ “

Diddy, LL Cool J, Sheek Louch, Bow Wow and DJ Khaled are among those making cameos in the video. Joe’s new album, The Elephant in the Room, was released Tuesday.

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are to marry on a yacht this summer, according to reports.

The Hollywood couple will reportedly wed in an intimate ceremony after Jolie, who is rumoured to be expecting twins, gives birth in France.

A source told Grazia magazine: “Brad has been talking about getting married for ages. He is totally devoted to her and their children. It is the right time for them to do this.

“It will be a strictly private affair. Brad did the big celebrity-packed wedding when he married Jennifer Aniston. This time it will be an intimate family gathering.

“Angelina has said there will be no big white dress or lots of flowers. At the moment they are looking at hosting a ceremony this summer on a yacht out in the ocean, miles from land, with just their children, Brad’s close family and Angelina’s brother.”

According to the source, Jolie is also considering inviting her estranged father Jon Voight, however she wants brother James Haven to give her away.

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) – An attorney who claims to represent pop star Britney Spears has filed an appeal challenging the conservatorship that gave the troubled singer’s father control of her personal and business affairs.

The filing, made on Tuesday in Los Angeles Superior Court by attorney Jon Eardley, claims that Spears was not given the minimum five-day notice required by California law when control is sought over a person’s assets or estate.

“The record shows no legitimate grounds for dispensing with the 5-day notice requirement … nor any finding by the court of good cause for dispensing with the 5-day notice,” said the filing, a copy of which was obtained by Reuters.

Eardley has said in previous court filings that he was hired by Spears in a telephone conversation, and a spokesman for the attorney told Reuters on Tuesday that Eardley continues to believe he is acting in her best interest despite the fact a federal court has ruled that he cannot act as her attorney.

Sands said it will be up to the California court of appeals to rule on this latest appeal in the twisting and turning legal battle over the 26-year-old singer whose life has veered out of control since late in 2006.

Spears, who gained fame as a child star on TV and as a teen scored hit songs like “Oops … I Did it Again,” has been in rehab, lost custody of her sons to ex-husband Kevin Federline and been hospitalized twice for psychiatric evaluation.

On February 1, a California state court granted temporary conservatorship to her father, Jamie Spears, and attorney Andrew Wallet. That ruling remains in effect until July 31. 

Angelina Jolie might be pregnant with twins – but that didn’t stop the Hollywood stunner taking her beloved son Maddox out for a ride in a private plane Tuesday.

The actress, though yet to confirm pregnancy rumors, is sporting a visible baby bump – and it has been widely reported that she is expecting twins.

But the 32-year-old ‘Tomb Raider’ star piloted a private plane with 6-year-old Maddox – who she adopted from Cambodia in 2002 – in an air field in Smithville, Texas. Brad Pitt is currently shooting new film ‘Tree of Life’ in the area.

Jolie earned her pilot’s license in 2004.

“If I could actually fly a plane by the time he’s 4, I’ll be like Superman to [Maddox],” she explained at the time.

The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists recommends that moms-to-be not fly after their 36th week of pregnancy. Jolie, however, is far away from the 36-week mark.

Meanwhile, Brad and Angelina are reportedly planning an “intimate” summer wedding.

The troubled singer – who first showed off her acting skills in the widely criticised 2002 movie Crossroads - will appear in the CBS sitcom in an episode due to air in April, a representative for the show confirmed.

Britney is expected to play a character called Abby - who works in the doctor’s office owned by main character Ted - who is described as "sweet and friendly and scattered and a little nerdy".

The 26-year-old star is already working hard to make sure she is fully prepared for the role.

She was spotted leaving the 20th Century Fox studios in LA yesterday after having a script read-through with other cast members, including Alyson Hannigan, Neil Patrick Harris and Jason Segal.

The show revolves around Ted, played by Jason Segal, who tells his children the crazy stories behind how he met their mum.

As well as starring in Crossroads, Britney appeared on successful US TV show Will and Grace in 2006, and also starred in her own reality show with ex-husband Kevin Federline, Britney and Kevin: Chaotic.

In other news, Britney - who has an estimated $100 million fortune - has been given a $1500 weekly allowance by Los Angeles Superior Court Commissioner Reva Goetz.

In a ruling yesterday, the commissioner also approved hiring two specialist lawyers to help the mother-of-two sort out her financial affairs while she is under the temporary co-conservatorship of her father Jamie until July 31.

Geraldine Wyle, attorney for the conservators, said the allowance is intended to allow Britney to start to "enjoy herself and have some freedom of choice".

Angelina Jolie had quite the dramatic flight back from Iraq.   The mother of four is reportedly pregnant and she collapsed on her long flight home form the region two weeks ago, a new report claims that is published in Life& Style Weekly.  It was so bad that she was given oxygen and treated on the plane for what is called nosebleeds and leg cramps.She may have even fainted in her seat.  The story claims that the option was doled out to the humanitarian actress to have the flight halted so she could seek even more medical attention on the ground but apparently she roughed it out and made it okay for the rest of the way.The actress was the subject of many health stories during the birth of her first child. Jolie and her sidekick and baby daddy Brad Pitt have yet to confirm the pregnancy but she has been laying off the sauce of late.  In a recent double date with Brangelina and Clint Eastwood and his wife Dina Ruiz the booze was flowing at the table according to a report from Us Weekly magazine.But did Angelina drink the wine?  The report claims that a witness told the magazine that there was a glass of wine in front of her, but she only took a few sips, however later it says they all drank the wine and the chatty eyewitness claims that Brad had a few refills.  The witness also said that her baby bump was very noticeable.

Her outlandish behavior — lack of underwear, head-shaving, rehab, custody battle, psych ward — has been chronicled in mind-boggling detail. So has the mundane. On Tuesday, there was a hearing in her custody case over a gag order, which was denied. She went to a restaurant with her dad and kept getting up to go to the bathroom. It was all covered.

Expect her life to continue to unspool before us. One reason: There is big money to be made.

“The biggest news in the world right now is celebrity news,” and Britney is the biggest story, says Gary Morgan, CEO and co-owner of Splash News, a paparazzi photo agency.

Helping to fuel the interest: dramatic changes in the media landscape. The number of celebrity media outlets, journalists, photographers and bloggers has soared. News-delivery technology — the Internet, cellphones, podcasting — has rapidly expanded, and the revenue derived from covering celebs has multiplied.

Portfolio magazine recently calculated the value of what it called “the Britney Industrial Complex” and found that she and her travails are worth $110 million to $120 million a year to the economy. The Britney paparazzi alone take in $4 million annually, or about 20% of the overall paparazzi business.

The mainstream media also has turned its attention to Spears. “She’s a mess, and people want to see what happens,” Morgan says.

Indeed, demand is not flagging. Sales of Us Weekly and OK! climbed in 2007 (10% for Us and more than 23% for OK!) even as other celebrity magazines saw circulation diminish. The reason cited: their coverage of Spears, who has been on OK!’s cover 54 times in the 103 issues since January 2006. She has been the No. 1 weekly celebrity in USA TODAY’s Celebrity Heat Index, which has measured media attention since last January, more times than any other celebrity, and she outpaces No. 2 in total exposure (Angelina Jolie) 2-to-1.

The Los Angeles bureau chief of the Associated Press issued a memo to his staff last month reminding employees that for the foreseeable future, anything involving Spears is big-deal news. Rolling Stone, which first put her on the cover when she was 17, has her on the current issue with the headline, “Inside an American Tragedy.”

Then there’s the Chico Enterprise-Record. The 32,000-circulation daily in Chico, Calif., declared a month-long moratorium on Spears stories on Jan. 20 and is considering extending the ban for another month. Nobody has complained, the paper continues to publish, life goes on — just without Britney Spears news.

But maybe the reason Chico readers didn’t complain is that it doesn’t matter — there are countless other places to find Spears news these days.

Still, the Britney mess raises questions for the media, or at least for those who consider themselves responsible journalists: Have they become part of the story? Is the overpowering coverage contributing to her downward spiral? Should they pull back? Or is it their job to keep the cameras running until whatever happens … happens?

“We are taking pleasure in the spectacle of her self-destruction. By looking, we add momentum to what is already the most dramatic and publicly detailed immolation of a public figure in our lifetime,” says Michael Joseph Gross, a writer for Blender magazine who spent weeks hanging out with the Spears paparazzi for his March cover story on her “Road to Ruin.”

The experience left him deeply disturbed, he says, partly because of the role of the media and the public.

“It was the hardest thing I’ve ever written about. There is no light in this story,” Gross says.

It’s tempting to place the bulk of the blame for Spears’ predicament on increasingly aggressive paparazzi, and there’s no doubt they play a role, Gross says. “The paps I rode with are aware they are helping Britney along a destructive path,” he says. “But they don’t seem to take her life or their own lives seriously enough to stop and honestly assess what’s going on.”

The paparazzi now number in the hundreds in Los Angeles, many of them foreign-born; when Splash opened in 1989, there were just a handful and all were American, says Morgan, who is British.

Some agencies, such as TMZ.

com, require their photographers to sign contracts promising to obey all laws in pursuit of a story. Others are less picky: A substantial number of the new paparazzi, according to Gross and veteran paparazzi, are untrained as photographers and willing to do anything to get pictures, including driving dangerously and subjecting their targets (and their children) to verbal abuse to provoke a reaction.

“They threaten to hurt us, spit in our face, run us off the road, damage our cars,” says Harvey Levin, head of TMZ.com, the celebrity site that has broken scores of scoops about Spears.

“We had to hire security guards to protect our cameramen from other paparazzi — that’s how aggressive it has gotten.”

Not all are like that, protests Brandy Navarre, co-owner of X17, an agency known as “pro-Britney” that has teams of shooters on Spears 24/7. “Some of these guys who’ve been shooting her for five or six years start to feel really close to her,” Navarre says. “They love her because they’re making money off her, but they honestly like the girl.”

The editors who buy those pictures play a role, too, says Gross, who acknowledges being conflicted about it: His own Britney stories “just furnished my living room.”

“There has been a complete demolition of all standards of taste and decorum,” Gross says.

Now Spears is becoming an object of sympathy — from ordinary people, other celebrities, even some editors, photographers and bloggers.

Support sites — such as PrayersforBritney.com — have appeared, offering pep talks and positive thoughts from fans.

This month, a Splash paparazzo quit in a huff, declaring the situation out of control.

Last week, Mike Nichols, director of the Broadway musical Spamalot, ordered a rewrite of a show lyric that made fun of Spears, inserting Posh Spice instead.

Why? “Because we don’t laugh at sad people,” said show author Eric Idle. “Britney Spears is being tortured to death, and we don’t want to be on that side.”

And yet no one seems able to stop reading, watching, filming.

“We can’t just walk away. That would be like ignoring a pink elephant in the living room,” says Sarah Ivens, U.S. editor of OK! Weekly, a new British import in the ever-growing celeb-magazine category.

Spears’ predicament isn’t helped by the fact that until recently, no one among her family, friends or employees has been able to control her (although her father has been granted temporary conservatorship over his daughter’s affairs).

Nor does it help that for whatever reason, she acts in ways that encourage the paparazzi; she’s so friendly, she has even dated one.

“What we’ve done is present her life as the soap opera that it is,” says Perez Hilton, whose celebrity gossip blog, PerezHilton.com, has been critical of Spears for years. “The coverage wouldn’t be as intense if she wasn’t giving them all those crazy things to write about. It’s supply and demand. The demand is insatiable, and Britney feeds it. I see no end in sight.”

The public’s fascination with celebrity antics is of course not new and not surprising.

“People want access to the people they adore. It’s like touching the hem of Jesus,” says Frank Griffin, co-owner of paparazzi agency Bauer-Griffin. “People are sick of news about dead and wounded coming back from Iraq, about losing jobs and houses being repossessed, so they spend $1.29 on Us Weekly or Life&Style and get 20 or 30 minutes of relief.”

Besides, Americans are peculiarly susceptible to redemption themes with celebrities, say Griffin and Ivens, both of whom are British. “They like to see people taking pratfalls and then come back,” Griffin says.

“People really want a happy ending,” Ivens adds. “In this country, there’s a real desire for her to come back and be a success again.”
